He is a member of the U.S. Marines who served in Iraq. He went back to his hometown of Minneapolis for military leave and things went sideways. When he snaps back into reality, he finds out he has murdered his longtime girlfriend and both of his parents. He has no memory of the murders. He is devastated to learn that he has murdered the three most important people in his life. There is some sort of strange wired technology in his brain. He is in a Department of Defense secret black hole site and the military is trying to figure out what happened. While being transferred to another secret military facility, three people with supernatural abilities attack the military convoy and spirit Ripley away. They inform Ripley that in all likelihood it was not Russia or China who implanted the technology in his brain but his own American government.Ripley is sent to Suffragette City to find answers. Suffragette City is a place where the old magic from our Earth went. In the David Bowie inspired Suffragette City, music has supernatural power and can bestow super powers and super healing. Suffragette City is a place of extremes. You have many spiritual shops alongside dance clubs, brothels and strip clubs. Suffragette City is a place where you can find spiritual healing or someone can place a bounty on your head. Our Earth is called the old world in this new world of Suffragette City. Ripley is one of the few who have a foot in the new and old world since all of Suffragette City’s residents have passed on from the old world. Suffragette City is a place of great beauty and ugliness. You can make peace with your past life on Earth or you can revel in the bounty system of justice in The City. The real reason for Suffragette City’s existence is Salvation Road. Ripley’s journey starts in the Prince inspired Uptown where he visits the spiritual shop, Anotherloverholeinyohead. He then visits the George Clinton inspired Trombipulation, Heart’s Dreamboat Annie’s, and Michael Jackson’s the Man in the Mirror. Will Ripley be able to navigate this strangely beautiful city or will things turn ugly? Will Salvation Road offer answers to the deaths of those closest to him-deaths he knows he is responsible for- or will he sink deeper into the abyss?
